COMPANY HISTORY

In 1986, our founder Wayne Fortier went into business as Poxycrete of New England. He was among the earliest Tuff-N-Dri applicators when the Tuff-N-Dri name was still owned by Owens-Corning. During those early years, Wayne, along with a variety of employees and consultants, developed concrete repair practices that are now the cornerstone of the Crack-X brand name.

In 1999, Wayne incorporated under the current name of New England Waterproofing, Inc. At that time, we opened our office and shop at our current Natick address. Peter Gormley and Thor Egerhei joined the team, and were the driving force behind the transition from a 'mom and pop' outfit to a bona fide player in the residential and light commercial waterproofing industry in the area.

The first few years of the millennium brought rapid expansion, to keep pace with the housing boom in the region. The company swelled to over twenty employees. This growth brought about the articulation of two divisions within the company; Crack-X concrete repair and Tuff-N-Dri new construction foundation waterproofing. Carson Milgroom became the first Residential Division Manager and Joe Snowdon the first Crack-X Division Manager. David Mossman replaced Joe and continues to run that division.

With the new Massachusetts air barrier building code appeared another niche to fill, and our solely Commercial Division was born. Peter Meadows was brought into the company to lead that division with his decades' long experience in the waterproofing industry.

In February 2006, tragedy struck the company. Wayne Fortier, our founder, friend and visionary leader was killed in an iceboating accident. (For more about Wayne and his life and legacy, [CLICK HERE] Wayne's family invited Peter Gormley to step from the General Manager position to becoming President of the corporation. Peter continues to lead this company powerfully and successfully.

Today, we remain a vital, hard working and innovative company, proud of our work and our employees.
